Thane police have reportedly cracked multiple cases of mobile phone theft with the arrest of two suspects in Maharashtra's Thane district.

A number of thefts had recently taken place within the Naupada police station limits. Following a tip-off during an April incident probe, police detained Faid Vahid Shaikh, 20.

Further investigation revealed Shaikh's involvement in four thefts; his accomplice, Azaruddin Moinuddin Momin, was also nabbed on August 11. Momin reportedly committed six thefts in Naupada. Authorities recovered 24 mobile phones and two motorcycles worth Rs 5.40 lakh and discovered that the stolen devices were sent to Nepal via Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh.
