Manipur Chief Minister Calls for Unity and Peace Amid Ethnic Strife

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday emphasized the urgent need for reconciliation among communities to bring peace to the ethnically strife-torn state.
At the 133rd Patriots' Day celebrations, Singh called on all Manipuris to unite as one. He commemorated Patriots' Day, honoring those who sacrificed their lives for the country and reiterated the importance of overcoming caste and creed-based differences.
Singh also announced plans for state ministers and MLAs to host feasts at relief camps on Independence Day, highlighting efforts to support displaced persons and facilitate recovery. He mentioned that the central government is closely monitoring the situation and providing necessary assistance.
Reflecting on Manipur's challenges and progress, Singh noted the significant hardships faced since the violence that erupted in May last year but expressed optimism about the gradual return to peace.
He called for unity, urging people to set aside political differences and work together for the betterment of the state.
