Delhi Police Nabs Haryana Shooter in Chawala Area

Delhi Police have arrested Ankit, a 24-year-old shooter from Rohtak, involved in seven criminal cases. His capture led to solving a murder case in Sonipat. Police recovered firearms and live cartridges from Ankit, who allegedly shot at Jaipal in July over an old rivalry.

Delhi Police have arrested a 24-year-old Haryana-based shooter named Ankit from the Chawala area, officials confirmed on Sunday.

Ankit, hailing from Rohtak, was allegedly involved in seven criminal cases. His arrest has also cracked a murder case in Sonipat. According to the police, three pistols, one single-shot pistol, and 13 live cartridges were recovered from him.

In July, Ankit and his associates reportedly fired over 10 shots at Jaipal in Sonipat owing to an old rivalry. Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime branch) Amit Goel said they had received a tip-off about Ankit's whereabouts, leading to his arrest. Past cases against him include attempts to murder and charges under the NDPS Act and Arms Act.
