Five Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Navi Mumbai for allegedly staying in the country illegally, local police reported on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, Navi Mumbai's anti-human trafficking cell raided a residential building in Koparkhairne on Saturday. Four women and one man were apprehended, with an official revealing they had used forged documents to enter India.

The four women, aged between 34 and 45, worked as housekeepers, while the 38-year-old man was employed as a painter. An FIR has been registered against them under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules-1950 and the Foreigners Act-1946.
