The semi-nude body of the second-year chest medicine student was discovered in the hospital's seminar hall on Friday, bearing injury marks. Her father has alleged that she was raped and murdered.
Police have confirmed through preliminary autopsy reports that the woman was subjected to sexual abuse before being killed. The incident has triggered widespread outrage, forcing the SFI and DYFI, the student and youth wings of CPI(M), to organize protests throughout the state.
