NCB Seizes 170 Kg of Ganja in High-Stakes Bust in Madhya Pradesh

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 170 kilograms of ganja in Madhya Pradesh. The consignment was destined for Ayodhya and had originated from Devgaon in Maharashtra. Acting on a tip-off, authorities intercepted the truck and arrested one person. This adds to the NCB's significant narcotics seizures this year.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has taken a significant step in curbing drug smuggling by seizing 170 kilograms of ganja from a truck in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district. The operation resulted in the arrest of one individual.

The consignment, originating from Devgaon in Maharashtra, was en route to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Acting on a tip-off, the NCB team intercepted the truck at Titarpani toll plaza during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

During the search, authorities discovered the ganja hidden under sacks of fish feed. The arrested individual now faces charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The Indore-based NCB unit has seized over 3,000 kg of narcotics worth around Rs 9.5 crore since January 1, officials noted.
