A passenger has been apprehended at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi after a significant cache of illegal visas was found on his mobile phone, ARY News reported on Thursday. The suspect, identified as Aliyan Zaman, was about to board a flight to Malaysia when immigration officials detained him.

Further investigation revealed Zaman's phone contained more than 47 visas for different countries, including Cyprus, allegedly intended for Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals. Zaman, hailing from Attock, planned to travel to the UK from Malaysia with the help of an agent, FIA sources divulged to ARY News.

Zaman had paid PKR 400,000 to the agent, with a total agreed sum of PKR 2.8 million for the illegal immigration attempt, paid through cash and microfinance accounts. During the probe, a Cambodian visa was also found on Zaman's phone. Failing to provide satisfactory explanations, Zaman was handed over to the FIA's Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (HTC) in Karachi for further scrutiny.

Earlier in June, the Airport Security Forces (ASF) intercepted and apprehended another passenger attempting to smuggle drugs at Karachi airport, as reported by ARY News. The ASF spokesperson said 5.7 kg of hashish was seized from Arman, a suspect bound for Doha, who had cleverly concealed the drugs within containers.
