In a significant victory against drug smuggling networks, Punjab Police announced the arrest of two individuals involved in narcotic trafficking. More than six kilograms of heroin and Rs 6 lakh in cash were recovered as part of the operation conducted near the Indo-Pak border, the police said on Thursday.

Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, confirmed the arrest and seizure, praising the efforts of the Ferozepur Police. ''In a major breakthrough against trans-border narcotic smuggling networks, Ferozepur Police arrests 2 drug smugglers and recover 6.655 Kg of heroin & 6 lakhs in drug money,'' Yadav said in a social media post.

The operation was successfully executed by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team of District Ferozepur, following technical inputs received during their investigation. An FIR has been registered, and further investigations are underway, Yadav added.
