A 34-year-old woman in South Bengaluru was allegedly molested by a cab driver during an early morning walk. The incident, captured on CCTV, showed the woman being assaulted but managing to escape. The police subsequently traced the victim, leading to the arrest of the accused on Monday.
The footage showed the woman waiting outside a neighbor's house when a man suddenly grabbed her. Despite her efforts to escape, he overpowered her, but fled when she screamed for help. A senior police officer confirmed the complaint had been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to DCP Lokesh Jagalasar, the investigation revealed the cab driver frequented the area to ferry corporate employees and took the opportunity to molest the woman. Authorities are continuing further investigations into the matter.
