Police Nab Murder Suspect After Dramatic Escape Attempt

Police shot and captured a suspect in the murder of BJP functionary Selvakumar after he attempted to escape during questioning. The suspect, among five detained, attacked officers but was swiftly stopped. Both the suspect and a police sub-inspector were treated for injuries in Sivaganga Government Medical College Hospital.

A dramatic escape attempt was foiled by police as they shot a suspect in the murder of BJP functionary Selvakumar. The suspect tried to flee after attacking officers during questioning, authorities reported on Monday.

The individual, one of five detained in connection to Selvakumar's brutal murder on July 27, made a desperate bid for freedom which was quickly thwarted by alert officers. 'The suspect attacked the police interrogating him and made a bid to flee. But the alert police foiled his attempt by opening fire and nabbing him,' an official stated.

Both the suspect and a sub-inspector, who sustained injuries in the incident, were subsequently admitted to Sivaganga Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.
