Quad's Unified Stand: Advocating Peace, Stability, and Freedom in Indo-Pacific
The Quad, comprising India, the US, Japan, and Australia, reaffirmed its commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific. It emphasized regional autonomy, opposed coercion, and announced plans to broaden maritime awareness and telecom networks. The ministers also condemned actions in the South China Sea and terrorism, while discussing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.
The Quad, consisting of India, the US, Japan, and Australia, sent a strong message to China on Monday. They reaffirmed their commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and aimed to protect regional autonomy from coercion.
After a meeting of their foreign ministers, the Quad announced the expansion of their Indo-Pacific Maritime Domain Awareness program to include the Indian Ocean. This expansion will help monitor strategic waters more effectively.
Furthermore, the ministers discussed implementing a trusted telecommunication network and Open Radio Access Networks in Palau. They also addressed the tensions in the South China Sea and condemned terrorism and violent extremism in all forms.
