The Philippines has called upon Beijing to 'immediately cease all provocative and dangerous actions' following accusations of China 'unjustifiably' deploying flares near Subi Reef on August 22. The incident occurred while a Manila aircraft was conducting patrols.
The South China Sea Task Force further reported that on August 19, the same aircraft 'faced harassment' from a Chinese jet fighter during a surveillance mission near Scarborough Shoal.
There has been no immediate comment from the Chinese Embassy in Manila regarding these allegations.
