Delhi High Court Orders Ramdev to Remove 'Offending' Social Media Posts on Coronil

The Delhi High Court has directed yoga guru Ramdev to take down certain social media posts regarding the use of 'Coronil' for COVID-19. The Delhi High Court has instructed yoga guru Ramdev to remove specific social media posts related to the use of 'Coronil' as a treatment for COVID-19.

Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani ruled in favor of several doctors' associations, mandating that Ramdev delete certain posts within three days.

If Ramdev fails to comply, microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) is ordered to take down the content, as per the court.

A copy of the court's order is awaited. This directive is part of a 2021 lawsuit filed by doctors' associations against Ramdev, his associate Acharya Balkrishna, and Patanjali Ayurveda.

The lawsuit accuses Ramdev of making unproven claims about Coronil being a cure for COVID-19, despite the drug only being licensed as an immuno-booster.

The high court had previously issued a summons to Ramdev and others in October 2021, validating the lawsuit's basis.
