A junior engineer has been terminated, and an assistant engineer suspended in connection with the tragic death of three IAS aspirants due to a basement flood in a coaching centre, MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar announced on Monday.

The measures were taken against officials from the maintenance department responsible for the Karol Bagh Zone.

Termination and suspension orders are imminent, sources confirmed. The horrific incident unfolded after heavy rains led to the flooding of the basement at Rau's IAS Study Circle in Central Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar, resulting in the deaths of two female aspirants and one male aspirant.
