The co-owners of the Old Rajinder Nagar coaching centre basement, where three civil services aspirants tragically drowned last month, have filed a bail plea in the Delhi High Court. They argue their innocence, claiming they are merely landlords without any role in the facility's day-to-day management.
In a plea submitted, the four co-owners—Parvinder Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Sarbjit Singh—assert that the property was leased in accordance with Municipal Corporation of Delhi norms. They stated that they voluntarily went to the police after the incident, demonstrating their good faith.
The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing the incident under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The trial court had previously denied them bail, emphasizing the ongoing investigation's critical stage.
