In a noteworthy development, Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, extended her greetings to K Kailashnathan, a retired IAS officer, ahead of his appointment as the new Lieutenant Governor of the union territory.

Through a WhatsApp message, Bedi remarked, 'Puducherry finally gets a full-time very experienced officer as Lt Governor. Congratulations. The union territory will benefit under his administration.' She emphasized Kailashnathan's extensive tenure as an advisor to the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Bedi served as Puducherry's Lieutenant Governor for nearly five years, starting in 2016. Upon her departure in 2021, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan temporarily took over. Following Soundararajan's entry into the Lok Sabha election, Jharkand Governor C P Radhakrishnan assumed the role in March until his recent transfer to Maharashtra.
