Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched a fierce critique against the Congress on Saturday over its alliance with the National Conference (NC) for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Patel demanded the Congress clarify whether it supports the restoration of Article 370 as outlined in the NC's manifesto, accusing the party of being 'greedy for power' and compromising the nation's unity and integrity.
Patel stated, 'The Congress party, out of power, has revealed its intention of undermining the nation's unity. The public wants to know if Congress endorses the restoration of Article 370, as stated in the NC's manifesto.' BJP leader Devendra Rana and Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed Patel's sentiments, questioning the Congress's stand on key issues.
'The Modi government has ended years of discrimination against various communities by granting reservations,' Shah tweeted. He took a direct jab at Rahul Gandhi, asking him to clarify the Congress's position on the NC's manifesto promise to abolish reservations for Dalits, Gujjars, Paharis, and others. The Congress-NC alliance, which aims to contest all 90 assembly seats, was formally announced by NC patron Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar.
