Russian Warships Sharpen Skills in White Sea Drills

Russian warships conducted routine training drills in the White Sea, practicing the convoy and defense of ship caravans. The exercises involved the small anti-submarine ships, Onega and Naryan-Mar, which focused on combat scenarios involving air and sea attacks, using weapons and radio-electronic warfare equipment.

Russian warships carried out routine training drills in the White Sea to escort and protect a convoy of ships, the state-operated TASS news agency reported on Sunday. The exercises, as per the Russian Defence Ministry, included standard combat training procedures.

During these drills, two small anti-submarine ships, Onega and Naryan-Mar, undertook operations to manage the usage of combat weapons and radio-electronic warfare equipment in scenarios of attacks from both air and sea.

The previous day, the Onega and Naryan-Mar completed training and combat missions aimed at repelling a hypothetical air attack, TASS quoted a defence ministry statement. As part of the air defense exercise, the warships fired at simulated air targets using anti-aircraft missile systems and naval cannons.
