UP Police Arrest 15 for Muharram-Related Disturbances
The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested 15 individuals in relation to three cases from Muharram. Incidents included religious processions in prohibited areas and brandishing of weapons, causing communal tensions. Arrests were made following FIRs in the Payagpur and Nanpara police station areas, with all accused sent to jail.

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday apprehended 15 individuals in connection with three cases related to religious processions during Muharram. The processions took place in restricted areas and involved sharp-edged weapons, causing communal unrest, as per officials.
On the day of Muharram, it was reported that people carrying tazia attacked a group preventing them from passing through a field in the Payagpur police station area, Superintendent of Police Vrinda Shukla said on Friday. A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged, leading to the arrest of 11 men.
In a separate incident on Wednesday night, an FIR was filed in the Nanpara police station area against individuals who attempted to lead a religious procession through a prohibited area. Three people were arrested in this case on Friday.
An additional FIR was lodged over individuals openly brandishing sharp-edged swords. Abu Talib was arrested in connection to this incident on Friday. All arrested individuals have been sent to jail.
