The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a supplementary chargesheet against three more CPI (Maoist) cadres implicated in the 2021 Chhattisgarh attack on security forces. The assault resulted in the deaths of 22 personnel and injuries to several others.

The supplementary chargesheet, presented before the NIA special court in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, includes Rakesh Bhogam alias Kunjam Umesh, Madkam Unga, and Sodi Mangi. This development increases the total number of individuals charged in the case, initiated by NIA in June 2021, to 49.

According to the NIA, the accused were involved in a deadly attack orchestrated by CPI (Maoist) leaders using automatic weapons and Barrel Grenade Launchers. The assailants targeted combined teams of DRG, CoBRA, and CRPF conducting search operations near Tekalgudiyam village, Tarrem, also looting weapons and kidnapping a CoBRA soldier later released.

NIA investigations revealed the three accused actively participated in the attack and were found in possession of illegal arms, highlighting their role in the larger conspiracy to wage war against the Indian government.
