Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer, will embark on a four-day official visit to China starting Saturday, holding talks with his counterpart, Wang Yi, and connecting with key Chinese companies pivotal to the Maldives' economic growth in the Indian Ocean.

Zameer will be joined by Finance Minister Mohamed Shafeeq, Construction and Infrastructure Minister Abdul Muththlib, and senior government officials, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry.

This marks Zameer's first visit to China since assuming office in November 2023 under President Mohamed Muizzu's pro-China administration. The visit, scheduled from July 20 to 24, follows an invitation from Wang Yi.
