The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday announced the attachment of land in Gurugram, valued at over Rs 300 crore, belonging to real estate group M3M. This action is part of a money laundering probe associated with an alleged land fraud case implicating Congress leader and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

According to a statement by the ED, a provisional order was issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for the attachment of 88.29 acres of land located in Basharia village, Harsaru tehsil, Gurugram district. The case traces its origins to a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR filed against Hooda, ex-DTCP director Trilok Chand Gupta, RS Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (RSIPL), and other coloniser companies.

The ED alleges that the accused misled landowners and the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Hooda) to sell land at prices lower than the prevailing market rates. This action involved illegally acquiring licenses and assets, generating proceeds of crime worth Rs 300.15 crore. The attached funds were allegedly diverted for M3M group's operational and business expenses.
