Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday declared that India will not permit 'even a gram' of drugs to enter the country, urging anti-narcotics agencies to adopt a 'ruthless' approach in dismantling supply chains. He was addressing senior officials from central and state anti-narcotics agencies during the 7th apex level meeting of NCORD in the national capital.

During the event, Shah introduced the MANAS helpline number '1933' and an email ID, info.ncbmanas@gov.in, for citizens to report drug trafficking to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Information can also be submitted on the website ncbmanas.gov.in.

Shah emphasized that the drug trade is intricately tied to narco-terrorism and poses a severe threat to national security. He stressed the need for a multifaceted approach that targets supply chains, reduces demand, and focuses on harm reduction. The Home Minister highlighted the Narendra Modi government's endeavors over the past five years to combat drug trafficking through comprehensive reforms and encouraged a shift from 'need to know' to 'duty to share' among agencies.
