Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has initiated high-level discussions during his visit to the offices of Apple, Google, and Microsoft in San Francisco. The discussions centered around exploring various opportunities and exciting partnerships to bolster Tamil Nadu's growth. Stalin expressed his determination on social media to enhance these partnerships and make the state a leading economic hub in Asia.

The Chief Minister's visit to the United States underscores his ambition to attract substantial investments to fuel Tamil Nadu's economic development. Engaging with major US-based companies, Stalin aims to secure support for the state's growth initiatives.

During Day 1 of his tour, Stalin announced investments surpassing Rs 900 crores, paving the way for 4,100 new jobs across multiple sectors in cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Chengalpattu. Companies such as Nokia, PayPal, and Microchip are among those investing. With more discussions lined up, Stalin remains committed to intensifying this investment drive to steer Tamil Nadu towards a trillion-dollar economy.

At the San Francisco Investment Conclave, Stalin highlighted Tamil Nadu's economic prowess, citing its status as India's second-largest economy, high urbanization rate, and achievements in education. The Tamil Nadu government signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with investors including Nokia, PayPal, Microchip, and Yield Engineering Systems during the visit.

Guidance Tamil Nadu, the state's investment promotion agency, facilitated these agreements, with Chief Minister MK Stalin and Industries Minister TRB Rajaa in attendance. Nokia will establish an R&D Centre in Tamil Nadu at Rs 450 crore, creating 100 jobs, while PayPal plans an Advanced Development Centre in Chennai, generating 1,000 jobs. Microchip will set up a semiconductor R&D Centre in Semmancherry, Chennai, at Rs 250 crore, creating 1,500 jobs, and Yield Engineering Systems will create a manufacturing facility in Sulur, Coimbatore, worth Rs 150 crore, generating 300 jobs.
