VBA's Aarakshan Bachao Janyatra: A Call for Reservation Clarity in Maharashtra

The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) is set to launch the 'Aarakshan Bachao Janyatra' on July 25 to address the reservation issues in Maharashtra. The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) will kick off its 'Aarakshan Bachao Janyatra' on July 25, focusing on the contentious reservation issues plaguing parts of Maharashtra, announced party chief Prakash Ambedkar.

Addressing the media, Ambedkar demanded the cancellation of Kunbi caste certificates issued without applications and called for political parties to clarify their positions on reservation. He also criticized the 'sage soyare' notification, labeling it as quota 'adulteration', citing previous court rulings against it. Activist Manoj Jarange's demand to recognize Kunbis as sage soyare for reservation benefits also stirred tensions among the OBC community.

The 'Aarakshan Bachao Janyatra' will traverse several villages, starting after a visit to key memorial sites in Mumbai and Pune. The yatra aims to raise awareness on enhancing SC/ST and OBC scholarships and job promotions, pressuring apathetic political parties. Ending on August 7 or 8, the campaign underscores the growing divide and urgency in Maharashtra's reservation debate.
