Couple Arrested Over Viral Car Video

A 28-year-old chartered accountant and his girlfriend, an engineering student, were arrested after a video of them in a compromising position in a car went viral. The couple, charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and local bylaws, were later released on bail.

A 28-year-old chartered accountant and his girlfriend, an engineering student, were arrested by Sitabuldi police after a video of them in a compromising position inside a moving car went viral.

The video was filmed by a passerby while the couple was driving in the Dharampeth area on Monday evening. Following its circulation on social media, the police initiated an investigation and summoned the pair and their parents.

The case includes charges under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 296 (obscenity), 281 (rash driving), and 293 (nuisance in public place), as well as violations under the Motor Vehicles Act and Maharashtra Police Act. They were later released on bail.
