The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and EduSkills Foundation, in partnership with Ansys, Midas IT, and the Wadhwani Foundation, have launched 200,000 virtual internships for engineering students. This initiative is set to boost employability by offering practical industry experience to students, thus improving their job prospects post-graduation.

AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam lauded the initiative, highlighting its significance in linking internships and employability. He emphasized AICTE's commitment to preparing India's engineering graduates for the future, aiming to facilitate one crore internships by 2025. Prof. Sitharam also pointed out the initiative's broader impact in empowering students with essential skills and creating a dynamic ecosystem that supports economic growth and talent development.

National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) Chairman, Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, acknowledged the initiative as a vital step towards bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world experience. He stressed the importance of practical experience for professional growth and the collective effort to enhance employability for millions of students. Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar, AICTE's Chief Coordinating Officer, echoed this sentiment, noting that the initiative aligns with the mission to bridge the industry-academia gap and prepare students for career readiness by providing practical learning experiences.

As part of this initiative: Ansys will offer 50,000 virtual internships in Electromagnetic Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, and Structural Analysis. Midas IT will provide another 50,000 internships in Bridge Analysis & Design and Geotechnical Analysis Simulation. The Wadhwani Foundation will contribute 100,000 internships focused on employability skills.
