The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday issued an interim order restraining West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and three other individuals from making any defamatory or incorrect statements against Governor CV Ananda Bose until August 14.

The directive comes in the wake of a defamation suit filed by Bose against Banerjee, TMC MLAs Sayantika Banerjee and Reyat Hossain Sarkar, as well as party leader Kunal Ghosh.

Bose prayed for an interim order to prevent further comments linked to alleged incidents at Raj Bhavan. The governor took legal action following certain remarks made by Banerjee while discussing the imbroglio over oath-taking for the two new MLAs.
