BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has reiterated demands for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's resignation in light of the sexual assault and murder of a trainee doctor. Ghosh emphasized the need for a complete overhaul of the state's administration.

West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari echoed these demands, stating that the BJP is fighting for justice and calling for the immediate resignation of the CM. 'We, the Bengal BJP, are protesting and demanding justice for the victim,' Adhikari said.

In a related development, Professor Manas Kumar Bandopadhyay has been appointed the principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, following the replacement of Prof Suhrita Paul to Barasat Government Medical College. The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the case and formed a National Task Force to recommend guidelines for the safety of medical professionals. The CBI is currently investigating the case.

The top court expressed deep concern for the safety of doctors in India, highlighting the fundamental right to equality for female professionals. The trainee doctor was found dead on August 9 at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata.
