Tragic Shooting Incident at GTB Hospital: 18-Year-Old Shoots 32-Year-Old Patient

A 32-year-old man named Riyazuddin was shot dead by an 18-year-old inside GTB Hospital's Ward Number 24. The attack appears to stem from personal enmity. Delhi's Health Minister has ordered a security review of all hospitals. The incident was alarming for everyone present.

A 32-year-old man, Riyazuddin, was fatally shot by a teenager inside Ward Number 24 at GTB Hospital, officials reported on Sunday. Riyazuddin had been admitted for an abdominal infection since June 23.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary, the hospital staff called the police immediately after the shooting. The police said a single shooter was involved, and Riyazuddin succumbed to his injuries shortly after the attack.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was due to personal enmity. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj announced a security review for all hospitals to prevent such incidents in the future. A nurse on duty recounted the terrifying moments when the teenager threatened the ward before shooting and fleeing the scene.
