A woman from Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir has gone missing and allegedly converted to Hinduism to marry a man from Navi Mumbai, according to police sources on Saturday.

The Kreeri police station lodged a report after her father claimed his daughter disappeared on August 16. On August 19, she reportedly converted and wed Sagar Pradeep Singh.

Authorities have registered a kidnapping case and are warning against spreading misleading or inflammatory information, which could lead to legal action, including criminal proceedings.
