British police announced on Friday that human remains found in two suitcases at the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol belong to two adult men. A major manhunt is currently underway, with the main suspect having traveled from London with the bags.
Detectives swiftly launched the manhunt following the grisly discovery on Thursday. London's Metropolitan Police have now taken over the investigation, and a crime scene has been established in west London. The suspect is believed to have traveled from the British capital to Bristol earlier in the day and taken a taxi to the bridge with the suitcases.
Acting Bristol Commander Vicks Hayward-Melen confirmed that ongoing forensic post-mortem examinations are being conducted on the remains, which are believed to be of two adult men, though formal identification has not yet been made. Efforts are underway to locate and speak to their next of kin.
