A woman was allegedly hacked to death while she slept in the courtyard of her Maganganj village home, police reported Thursday.

The victim, Zarina (45), was discovered dead by her family members in the Gosaiganj police station area. Additional Superintendent Police (ASP) Arun Chandra revealed the attack likely involved an axe.

Authorities suspect familial involvement and have initiated an investigation. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
