The King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language and the Union of News Agencies of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Countries will host a virtual symposium on September 2, 2024. The event, aimed at enhancing Arabic content in news agencies of non-Arabic-speaking OIC countries, will gather experts from the Academy alongside representatives from official news agencies and the General Secretariat of the Organisation.

The symposium will explore the challenges non-Arab news agencies face in producing accurate and engaging Arabic content. The primary objective is to devise effective strategies to overcome these obstacles and establish a framework for future training programs. These initiatives will aim to equip agency staff with essential skills in Arabic editing, proofreading, and media utilization.

This symposium underscores the ongoing collaboration between the Academy, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and its related entities, all of whom share a common goal: to elevate the prominence of Arabic in global discourse. This is particularly vital within the Islamic world, where Arabic is of profound religious significance as the language of the Noble Quran.
