The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has strongly condemned the killing of Abdul Khaliq, allegedly at the hands of the Pakistan army. Khaliq, described as a dedicated political activist, was deeply involved in social and political work advocating for Baloch freedom. According to a BNM press release, Khaliq was a peaceful nationalist political activist killed by the Pakistan army.

BNM highlighted Abdul Khaliq's unwavering support for the Baloch Liberation Movement, noting his significant contributions in aiding fellow freedom fighters. The party hailed Khaliq as a martyr of the Baloch freedom movement, stating, 'The Baloch National Movement salutes Shaheed Abdul Khaliq for his unwavering dedication to the freedom struggle and proudly honours him as a martyr.'

According to BNM, Abdul Khaliq was inducted into the movement in 2018. He played a prominent role in aiding his fellow activists. On August 13, 2024, Khaliq was targeted and killed by the Pakistan army while working in his fields in Malar. The Baloch National Movement, a group advocating for Baloch rights and autonomy, pointed out ongoing human rights abuses in Balochistan since its forcible annexation by Pakistan in 1948.

The BNM has been active in organizing rallies and protests to raise awareness about Baloch issues. The group, previously led by Ghulam Mohammed Baloch until his assassination in 2009, aims to galvanize public support and press for political change to end decades of oppression and violence in the region.
