A cement manufacturing company executive has been arrested by anti-corruption vigilance sleuths for allegedly attempting to bribe a district collector. An official release stated that the incident occurred when the accused visited the Bargarh Collector, Aditya Goyal, and offered him a flower bouquet and a sweet packet.

Suspecting foul play, Goyal directed his peon to open the sweet packet, which revealed four bundles of Rs 500 currency notes amounting to Rs 2 lakh. The vigilance authorities were immediately informed and seized the packet.
