On August 30, observing the International Day for Enforced Disappearances, the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) issued a stark call for action. Chairman Sohail Abro, alongside Zubair Sindhi, Amar Azadi, and other officials, urged the international community to address the plight of missing Sindhi, Baloch, and Pashtoon individuals.

Abro emphasized global solidarity and the urgent need for international attention. According to the JSFM, enforced disappearances often involve political activists in Sindh, who are detained by state agencies and subjected to brutal torture, including hanging and waterboarding. The statement noted several activists, including Muzaffar Bhutto, Maqsood Qureshi, and Sami Ullah Kalhoro, who have reportedly suffered or been killed under such conditions.

The statement highlighted a grave human rights crisis, with over five thousand Sindhi freedom fighters reported missing since 2002. Recent incidents include the injuries of national activists by police on August 14 and the killing of Goro Sindhi (aka Jamil Shoro) by state agents on August 19. The JSFM also reported that around 22,000 Baloch and 4,000 Pashtun national workers have been forcibly disappeared. They appealed to international bodies, including the United Nations and Amnesty International, to intervene and ensure the recovery of all missing individuals from Pakistani state institutions.
