Jakarta [Indonesia], August 18 (ANI/WAM): The Muslim Council of Elders organized a cultural seminar titled 'Religion and Environmental Issues: Interfaith Cooperation for Sustainable Development' during the Indonesia International Islamic Book Fair.

During the seminar, experts Fakhruddin Mangunjaya and Mukhlis Muhammad Hanafi discussed religions' roles in guiding human behavior towards environmental conservation. Mangunjaya identified climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution as the primary environmental crises humanity faces, emphasizing religions' potential to promote moral responsibility and sustainable practices.

Hanafi highlighted that all humans share a common responsibility to protect the Earth, and different religions advocate for environmental care in their core teachings. He noted that these teachings align with ethical and religious duties, urging individuals and communities towards sustainable development. The Muslim Council of Elders participated for the third consecutive time at the fair, held from August 14 to 18 in Jakarta. (ANI/WAM)
