External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar underscored the importance of reinforcing economic resilience, tackling climate change, transitioning energy systems, revitalizing multilateralism, and democratizing digital transformations at the third session of the Voice of Global South Summit, held virtually on Saturday.

Highlighting economic resilience, Jaishankar pointed to the pandemic, conflicts, and climate events as reminders of the need for reliable supply chains. He called for diversified production to de-risk the global economy, positioning socio-economic justice as crucial for global predictability.

Jaishankar also stressed the significant risks posed by climate change, advocating for the Global South to collaborate on low-cost financing and critical technologies. He emphasized the importance of Just Energy Transitions under India's G20 Presidency.

The Foreign Minister called for revitalizing multilateralism and reforming Multilateral Development Banks. Jaishankar stated that existing multilateral frameworks need urgent reforms to address global challenges effectively.

On digital transformation, Jaishankar highlighted India's success with Digital Public Infrastructure and suggested that similar initiatives could benefit Global South nations through cooperation and technology exchanges.

Jaishankar concluded by urging Global South nations to voice their concerns at the upcoming UN Summit of the Future, stressing collective action to secure a better future.
