Taiwan monitored 13 Chinese aircraft and seven vessels around its territory until 6 a.m. on Saturday, as confirmed by Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND). According to the MND, twelve of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, southwestern, and eastern air defence identification zone (ADIZ).

The ministry noted that Taipei has kept a close watch on the situation, responding accordingly. "Thirteen PLA aircraft and seven PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. Twelve of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, southwestern, and eastern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly," the MND stated in a social media post.

Friday saw the detection of 13 Chinese military aircraft and 10 naval vessels from 6 a.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday. On Thursday, the MND reported the presence of 6 military aircraft and 11 naval vessels. These incidents form part of a string of similar Chinese provocations in recent months, with China ramping up military operations around Taiwan, including regular air and naval incursions into Taiwan's ADIZ and exercises near the island.
