President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded the First-Class Medal of Independence to Kariuki Mugwe, the former Kenyan Ambassador to the UAE. This honor marks the end of Mugwe's tenure and recognizes his contributions to the development of bilateral relations across various sectors.

The award was presented by Salem Al Naqbi, the UAE Ambassador to Nairobi and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme and UN-Habitat, during a meeting at the UAE Embassy in Nairobi. Al Naqbi highlighted the UAE's dedication to strengthening ties with Kenya.

Expressing his gratitude, Mugwe thanked President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and praised the collaboration between the two nations. He also expressed his appreciation to UAE entities for their support, which he said was crucial to the success of his mission.
