Trump Set for Major Interview with Elon Musk Amid Political Tensions

Former US President Donald Trump will be interviewed by Elon Musk next week. This follows Trump's resurgence on social media platform X, Musk's endorsement, and recent political controversies. Former US President Donald Trump announced he will be interviewed by billionaire CEO Elon Musk next week. "On Monday night I'll be doing a major interview with Elon Musk," Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, as reported by multiple US publications including The Hill.

The Republican presidential candidate was recently interviewed at his Mar-a-Lago estate by live streamer Adin Ross, leading to a streaming record on the platform 'Kick.' In an unusual move last month, Musk, who owns social media platform X, endorsed Trump after he was injured in an attempted assassination in Pennsylvania.

Trump's account, banned from Twitter (now X) following the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill attack, was reinstated under Musk's ownership. Musk, also the owner of SpaceX and Tesla, has reportedly pledged USD 45 million per month to a new political action committee backing Trump, aiming to bolster voter outreach efforts.

The announced Musk interview comes after Democratic nominee Kamala Harris appointed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. On August 4, five state secretaries planned to send an open letter to Musk, urging changes to X's AI chatbot Grok after it disseminated false information about Harris's eligibility for the 2024 election.
