A tragic incident unfolded in Rochester, New York, on Sunday evening when a shooting at a large gathering led to one fatality and six injuries, according to local police. Captain Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department briefed reporters, saying officers responded to reports of gunfire at Maplewood Park around 6:20 PM.

Upon arrival, police found multiple individuals with gunshot wounds. The deceased was identified as an adult in their 20s. The incident, which occurred on Bridge View Drive, saw a large group of people fleeing the scene, adding to the chaos.

According to Rochester First, five people with relatively minor injuries were hospitalized. Throughout the night, some victims were transported to medical facilities by private vehicles, while others were taken by ambulance. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the shooting.
