Delhi police officials confirmed on Tuesday that a man wanted in seven criminal cases, including three murders, has been arrested following a brief exchange of fire in Gokalpuri. The accused, identified as 42-year-old Ravi, sustained a gunshot injury to his left leg.
Ravi is the primary suspect in the recent murder of 44-year-old Neeraj Arora, which occurred on August 24 in Gokalpur village. Inspector Praveen Kumar, SHO of Gokalpur, led the police team that had been tracking Ravi since the incident. Ravi was intercepted late on August 26, resulting in a shootout where he fired at police before being apprehended.
Police recovered a pistol with a live round and a stolen motorcycle from Ravi. Additionally, three other suspects in the Neeraj Arora case, identified as Ravi, Bhupender (Jalim), and Neeraj Kumar, have been arrested. The accused had allegedly argued with the deceased during a drinking session, leading to the fatal attack. Ravi faces charges under multiple sections, including the Arms Act.
