Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence has assured the public that the armed forces are fully prepared to face Typhoon Gaemi, expected to make landfall on Wednesday. Despite the impending storm, the annual Han Kuang war games will proceed as planned, demonstrating Taiwan's defense readiness.

The Ministry announced via its official channels, 'Typhoon Kaemi approaches. ROC Armed Forces are ready to respond to potential disasters and continue our drills.' It also mentioned a potential live broadcast from Penghu, weather permitting.

However, with the typhoon's impact expected on the northeastern coast, some air and sea exercises have been canceled. The ongoing Han Kuang exercises involve critical live-fire drills and computerised simulations aimed at enhancing combat readiness amidst regional tensions. Thousands of reservists have reported for duty, participating in rigorously coordinated defense activities, particularly in strategic locations like Taoyuan International Airport.
