Odisha's Healthcare Revolution: Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana

The Odisha government is gearing up to roll out the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri – Jan Arogya Yojana by February next year, according to Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
The implementation will be alongside the state's Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY), extending benefits to approximately 3.5 crore people. A central team has already evaluated the situation on the ground in anticipation of the rollout.
Mahaling highlighted plans to increase the number of medical and nursing colleges to bolster the healthcare infrastructure. Beneficiaries will be able to access health insurance in 27,000 empaneled hospitals across and beyond Odisha.
