Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled groundbreaking plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital health solutions into the state's healthcare system. This initiative aims to vastly improve healthcare delivery, particularly focusing on maternal and child health.
The announcement followed Naidu's Sunday meeting with Dr Prateek Sharma, president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and chairman of the AI Institute in America, and Dr Rakesh Kalapala, director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation at AIG Hospitals. 'We discussed in detail the newly constituted Healthcare Consortium and harnessing Artificial Intelligence and digital health for better delivery of healthcare in the state,' Naidu posted on X.
Naidu highlighted the initiative's focus on identifying critical health areas using AI-driven diagnostics for risk assessment and automated care solutions. One of the innovative solutions is the deployment of real-time informative chatbots in local languages, guiding expectant mothers on nutrition, prenatal care, and symptoms to monitor. These chatbots will work in tandem with local healthcare workers to ensure their advice aligns with government guidelines and assist with appointment reminders.
The state government's move to leverage AI and digital health technologies is anticipated to significantly enhance healthcare services, especially in rural and underserved regions of Andhra Pradesh.
