SRN Hospital Enlists 40 Guards to Combat Stray Dog Menace
SRN Hospital in Prayagraj has hired 40 security guards, including 10 gunmen, to address the issue of stray dogs. This action follows an Allahabad High Court order. The hospital has contracted Uttar Pradesh Bhutpurva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Ltd to provide the guards, and additional measures are underway.

To tackle the pressing issue of stray dogs, the Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital in Prayagraj has enlisted the services of 40 security guards, 10 of whom are gunmen, as confirmed by a hospital official on Saturday. The guards have been supplied by Uttar Pradesh Bhutpurva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Ltd, following a contract with SRN Hospital.
This development comes as per the directive of the Allahabad High Court's order dated August 22, 2024. The principal secretary of the Medical Education Department and the superintendent-in-chief of SRN Hospital submitted affidavits on September 18, outlining the deployment plan to the court.
The hospital has also requested the Prayagraj municipal commissioner to initiate a drive to capture stray dogs. Concurrently, repairs are being made to broken doors and entry points to fortify the hospital premises. Furthermore, the court has requested a supplementary affidavit detailing plans for separate duty rooms for female doctors, scheduling the next hearing for October 21, 2024.
