Criminal Nexus at RG Kar Hospital: Former Principal Allegedly Exploited Medical System

Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has been arrested by the CBI for operating a criminal nexus involving financial irregularities and wrongful gains. The investigation revealed Ghosh's close ties to two vendors and his security guard's wife's organization. The CBI presented these findings to a special court.

Former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, has been apprehended by the CBI for allegedly running a criminal nexus that led to financial discrepancies and wrongful gains. Initial findings of the probe detailed Ghosh's connections with co-accused parties.

CBI claims that Ghosh, along with two vendors and his security person, manipulated contracts at the hospital. These vendors were reportedly close to Ghosh since his tenure at Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital. The probe also uncovered Ghosh favoring his security guard's wife's organization by awarding her a cafe contract inside the hospital.

Presented before a special court, the findings exposed how Ghosh's criminal activities caused significant financial loss to the government while giving him and his associates undue benefits. The investigation is also probing the security guard’s role in selling the hospital's biomedical waste.
