Junior doctors at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital inaugurated a telemedicine service called 'Abhaya Clinic' on Saturday, amidst their ongoing protest. The initiative aims to serve patients during their cease-work, which began on August 9 following the alleged rape and murder of a colleague whose body was discovered at the facility.

The West Bengal Junior Doctors Front revealed that the service would run daily, with four SIM cards allocated for the purpose. The first day saw around 500 patients receiving consultations and prescriptions through WhatsApp communications between 10 AM and 2 PM.

Despite their innovative initiative, the junior doctors remain resolute in their demands for justice. Their agitation has now spanned over 22 days, with the investigation taken over by CBI detectives and a Kolkata Police civic volunteer under arrest.
